The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support our Newcastle office with its operational and commercial needs.
We are looking for someone with experience in
account management
for freight forwarding
who can start making an impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
Being directly responsible for managing our customer accounts and ensuring that they always receive a personable and tailored service delivery to build loyalty, ensure repeat business and enable all jobs to run efficiently and correctly.
Working closely with the operations team to ensure all jobs run efficiently & correctly and update customers where operations require support or for more problematic situations.
Working closely with our Business Development Managers to support the growth of the business and helping to build our portfolio.
You will be responsible providing quotes directly to customers and ensure these are being followed up on proactively to win and close as many opportunities and bookings as possible.
To build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers ensuring that we are providing the best service and rates to our customers.
Alongside service, margins are of course incredibly important to us and you will play a pivotal role in ensuring we have clear profit margins on all accounts and jobs, maximising these wherever possible

What you'll bring:
Account management experience for road, air or sea freight customers is essential
Outstanding communication and customer service skills
The ability to develop and build strong and personable relationships over the phone and in person with a broad range of individuals
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a strong team player
Accountability to yourself and others
Extremely organised with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work well under pressure and able to work to tight deadlines
High IT literacy skills and competence with Microsoft office packages
An open and honest approach to all things
Flexibility and an ability to adapt to change
