Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Key Accounts Office Manager to join our team at Barnstaple.

The Role




The Key Accounts Office Manager is responsible for managing and developing relationships with high-value clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and acting as the main point of contact for key account customers. You will oversee internal sales operations related to these clients, coordinate with logistics and purchasing teams, and ensure consistent performance against service and sales targets.

Key Responsibilities



Account Management

:

+ Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts in the construction, trade, and building sectors.
+ Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
+ Resolve customer issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.

Sales & Service

:

+ Oversee and process customer orders, quotations, and enquiries promptly and accurately.
+ Proactively follow up on quotations and convert leads into confirmed orders.
+ Identify sales opportunities and work closely with the external sales team to grow revenue from key accounts.

Team Leadership

:

+ Manage a small office-based team focused on supporting key accounts (if applicable).
+ Support staff training and ensure excellent customer service standards.

Communication & Coordination

:

+ Liaise with warehouse, transport, and purchasing departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
+ Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Reporting & Administration

:

+ Maintain accurate records of client interactions, order history, and pricing.
+ Prepare reports on account activity, sales performance, and customer feedback.

Skills & Qualifications



Proven experience in account management, sales coordination, or customer serviceideally within a builders merchants or construction-related business. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills. Competent in Microsoft Office and CRM software. Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of construction products and building materials is a strong advantage

The role will be based at our Branch Support Centre in Barnstaple

Hours




Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00
