Key Operator - Europe Snacks Ltd

Main Purpose of Position

The Key Operator plays a vital role in efficiently operating and maintaining packing lines and equipment to ensure consistent product quality and meet key performance indicator (KPI) targets. This role requires close collaboration with the production team to execute daily tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while prioritizing safety, food safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety

Operate machinery in full compliance with safety protocols, ensuring personal and team safety. Maintain a zero-accident mindset, adhering to the 10 Golden Rules of safety. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to machinery operation. Conduct safety observations and dialogues, actively identifying potential hazards. Report and document any near misses, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
Quality

Take full ownership of product quality, ensuring adherence to customer specifications. Perform regular quality checks, promptly reporting any deviations or issues to the Quality and Management teams. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and actively participate in food safety training.
Delivery

Ensure efficient resource utilization to meet production priorities and objectives. Provide a thorough handover at the beginning and end of each shift to maintain continuity. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly, escalating when necessary. Drive team efforts to achieve KPI targets effectively. Operate machinery efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation of relevant data. Support team development by providing training to colleagues when needed.
Cost Management

Identify and implement solutions to minimize losses and reduce waste. Follow production plans and operational standards to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
People & Culture

Qualifications & Skills

Basic proficiency in English and Mathematics. Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety principles. Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment. A team player with a flexible and reliable work approach. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and food production processes. Willingness to participate in critical training sessions. Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work collaboratively within a team.
