We are seeking a passionate and experienced teacher to join our established team at Growing Young Minds. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with small groups (Upper KS2, lower KS3) of children, delivering engaging and customised lessons that inspire a 'love of learning'. Our child centred approach ensures that each student receives the attention and support they need to thrive academically and personally.
Responsibilities and Skills
Plan and deliver age appropriate lessons tailored to the needs of each group of children
Utilise a variety of resource and learning styles to create engaging and fun learning experiences
Monitor and document each child's progress, ensuring they are meeting curriculum expectations
Foster positive relationships with students and their families, providing support and guidance as needed
Demonstrate effective behaviour management strategies and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
Identify and address barriers to learning, working collaboratively with colleagues and families to provide support
Possess strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attend parent meetings twice a year to discuss student progress and address any concerns
Actively participate and engage in continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Bachelor's degree (preferred)
Experience of teaching Upper KS2, lower KS3
At least 1 year experience teaching in the UK school system
Experience in Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning (preferred but not essential)
Proficiency in ICT software such as Google Drive and Microsoft
Satisfactory DBS check and references
Location and Schedule
This is a part time permanent position based at our Tooting, South London site. Every Tuesday at 5-7pm or Thursday at 5-7pm.
