To support the preparation and delivery of nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and person-centred care in the kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
Assist in preparing meals, snacks, and drinks according to planned menus and dietary requirements.
Support plating and serving food in a timely, respectful manner.
Ensure portion control and presentation meet care home standards.
Hygiene & Safety
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas.
Follow food hygiene regulations and infection control procedures.
Safely operate kitchen appliances and report faults promptly.
Stock & Supplies
Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
Monitor stock levels and inform senior staff of shortages.
Rotate stock to reduce waste and ensure freshness.
Resident-Centred Support
Respect individual dietary needs, preferences, allergies, and cultural considerations.
Engage with residents when appropriate to promote a positive dining experience.
Support themed meal days, celebrations, and special events.
Teamwork & Communication
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, care staff, and management.
Attend training and team meetings as required.
Report concerns about food safety, resident wellbeing, or kitchen operations.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 12.21 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
