to join our cafe, The Beech Barn Kitchen, as we relocate from the town centre. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, has great attention to detail, and thrives in a busy, welcoming environment.
This role will predominately be for one 5 hour weekday shift and a 6 hour Sunday shift. However, additional weekend and weekday hours may be available to cover staff holiday or illness.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, ensuring they receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive until their departure. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of guest interaction, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Additionally, you will assist the chef in the kitchen, preparing plates for orders and prepping stock for the day.
Responsibilities
Greet and welcome customers with a friendly and professional demeanour.
Preparing and producing barista style coffee (training provided)
Take orders accurately and efficiently.
Provide information on menu items and promote daily specials.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area and kitchen, including dining tables and coffee machine.
Handle cash transactions using POS system.
Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any customer concerns promptly.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to maintain high service standards.
Prepping food stock.
Preparing plates for orders in a timely manner.
Monitoring stock levels to ensure orders are placed as required.
A good knowledge of allergens and food safety standards that must be adhered to at all times.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a hospitality environment is preferred but training will be provided on site.
Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to provide exceptional customer services with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences.
Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to learn new skills related to serving and food preparation.
Food Hygiene Safety certifications.
