As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen staff in various food preparation tasks, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Duties

Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as needed. Perform food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces. Support chefs and cooks during service by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating dishes. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling and storage of food items. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods. Assist with catering events as required, ensuring all food is prepared according to specifications.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not mandatory. Strong cooking skills with an emphasis on knife skills and meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. A passion for the culinary arts and eagerness to learn from experienced chefs.
