Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn within a dynamic kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, contributing to the preparation of high-quality meals for our guests.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards. Support with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards. Help with catering events as required, ensuring timely service and presentation of dishes. Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods. Serve meals to customers when necessary, providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, ideally within a catering or restaurant setting. Basic culinary skills with a keen interest in cooking and meal preparation. Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
