Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Kitchen Assistant to join our Care Home. The ideal candidate will possess a background in food preparation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our residents while assisting the chef and staff effectively. An understand different levels of food consistency is essential (i.e. Puree diet) and An understanding of IDDSI framework is desirable.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards. Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences. Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen. Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations and team cohesion. Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Assist in the planning of special events and catering services as required i.e. Birthdays, Home events

Experience

Proven experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar role within the hospitality or Adult care field(Care home etc.) An understand different levels of food consistency is essential (i.e. Puree diet) and An understanding of IDDSI framework is desirable. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A passion for creativity in menu design, and an understanding of current food trends.
