Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. A Food Hygiene qualification would be an advantage but is not essential as all training will be provided.
Shifts are 11 hours with a 1 hour unpaid break, therefore 10 hours paid. An average of 25 hours per week as follows:
Week 1 - 2 x 11 hour shifts (8am to 7pm)
Week 2 - 3 x 11 hour shifts (8am to 7pm)
What you can expect your duties to include
(this list is an example and is not an exhaustive list):To assist with preparation and serving of food as required (only when a relevant food hygiene qualification is achieved). Collect meal trays once the service user has finished meal, wash trays after each meal. General washing up. To maintain daily cleaning of the kitchen as per cleaning rota including kitchen sinks, work surfaces, cooker top. To ensure that the kitchen floor is kept clean, free from grease and other spillages. Empty bins as necessary during the day and at end of shift. To prepare the dining room for meals and ensure the area is cleared and left clean and tidy following each meal. To serve tea/coffee to service users at 11am and 3pm and to ensure residents have clean water jugs and drinking glasses in their rooms or beside them
