Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen. Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food preparation tasks as directed by the head chef or kitchen supervisor Support the culinary team in cooking and plating dishes to ensure high-quality presentation Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly Adhere to food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times Help with serving meals during busy service periods, ensuring customer satisfaction Participate in stock management by assisting with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Requirements

Previous kitchen experience or culinary experience is preferred but not essential Familiarity with food safety practices and hygiene standards Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques Experience in catering or restaurant environments is a plus Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team A positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills in the culinary field
