Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that food preparation and meal preparation processes run smoothly. Duties

Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment. Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times. Support catering activities by preparing ingredients and assisting in the setup of food service areas. Help cooks with various tasks, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and portioning meals. Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to the head chef. Participate in regular cleaning schedules to maintain a safe working environment.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential. Understanding of food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn from experienced cooks. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Good communication skills to ensure smooth coordination with kitchen staff.
