We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our After School Clubs by ensuring that food preparation and cooking processes run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals who have a passion for food and creating nutritious meals for our children.

Responsibilities

Preparation of food, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking. Cooking and plating simple but healthy dishes, maintaining high standards of food hygiene. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Help with catering events as required, ensuring timely service and customer satisfaction. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, including roles in catering or restaurants. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is essential. Experience in meal preparation and cooking techniques will be advantageous. A strong willingness to learn and develop culinary skills is highly valued. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are crucial for success in this role.
