We are currently seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team at The Middlewick. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. Your role will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service, contributing to the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals.

Responsibilities:



Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and storing. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste. Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored properly. Support chefs in food preparation and cooking as needed, following hygiene and safety standards. Receive and store deliveries, ensuring stock is rotated and stored correctly. Help with basic food assembly and plating during service times. Monitor stock levels and report shortages or issues to the Head Chef. Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of food hygiene. Clean kitchen appliances, such as ovens, grills, and stoves, to ensure they are in good working condition. Empty and clean bins, disposing of kitchen waste in accordance with regulations. Assist with any other duties as required by the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:



Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of basic food hygiene and kitchen safety practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure. Strong attention to detail and cleanliness. Good communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
