Responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the kitchen areas and assisting the Chef where required.
Role and Responsibilities:
Morning shift:
Collect used jugs and glasses from Service Users room. Clear any dishes left from breakfast.
Wash breakfast dishes, jugs and glasses. Refill jugs with fresh drinking water and return to Service users rooms with clean glasses.
Lay dining Room tables for lunch.
Prepare trays for Service Users in their rooms.
Serve mid morning drinks and snacks.
Collect tea and coffee cups and wash and put away.
Prepare jugs of squash/water for the dining room and those Residents dining in their rooms.
Assist with service of lunch to the dining room and lay trays for those Residents dining in their rooms. Offer and serve drinks after lunch.
Wash up lunch time dishes and put away.
Clean sinks/ dishwasher and seals and surrounding areas.
Dispose of all used cloths.
Remove all waste to the appropriate skips, sweep and mop floors.
Lay up dining room for supper.
Afternoon Shift
:
Serve afternoon cups of tea and snacks.
Collect cups and wash and put away.
Lay trays for supper for those Service users in their rooms.
Collect all dishes and wash and put away.
Clean sinks/dishwasher and seals and surrounding areas in line with COSHH guidelines
Remove waste to appropriate skip. Dispose of all used cloths.
Sweep and mop floors.
To maintain high standards of personal hygiene and to wear correct, clean uniform/PPE.
Understand and work to the principle of CLEAN AS YOU GO.
Understand and work to achieve DUE DILIGENCE.
To be aware of the Health & Safety Regulations and to report any situation that could be considered hazardous.
To carry out the correct use of equipment
To report all accidents and incidents to the Chef on duty
To undertake training identified as appropriate by your line manager and to have an up to date Food & Hygiene certificate.
To attend Supervision meetings with your line manager at least 6 times per year(pro rata for part time staff)
To be aware of Company Policies Procedures.
To be aware of anti discriminatory practice and to promote equality and diversity throughout your work.
To report any incidents or allegations of abuse following the correct steps in line with Company Safeguarding Adult Policies and Procedures and Local Safeguarding Adults Policies.
To have an understanding of and follow the Company Whistleblowing Policy where necessary.
To complete any other duties as required by your line manager/Home Manager.
