We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and cooking, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support our culinary team in meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
Assist with meal preparation and cooking under the guidance of chefs
Support food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards
Help with serving meals during busy periods and catering events
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food delivery
Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting shortages
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, ideally within a similar setting
Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
Knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements
Basic culinary skills with an eagerness to learn more about cooking techniques
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure setting
