Duties

The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

Assisting with meal preparation and food preparation under the guidance of chefs Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food storage areas Supporting catering events by preparing ingredients and serving meals Ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulations Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods Assisting with inventory management, including receiving and storing supplies

Skills

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills:

Previous experience in a catering or restaurant environment is advantageous Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure setting Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques
