Kitchen Assistant

Location: Peak Wildlife Park, Winkhill, Staffordshire

Hours: part- full time, including weekends and bank holidays.

Peak Wildlife Park is a unique and family-friendly Wildlife Park nestled in the heart of Staffordshire. Alongside our incredible animals and immersive experiences, we are proud to offer our visitors a welcoming cafe where we serve freshly prepared meals, drinks, and Afternoon Tea.

The Role



We are looking for a friendly, hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team, supporting the preparation and service of our Afternoon Teas and to work a busy service in our restaurant. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for food, customer service, and teamwork in a fun, lively environment, who has experience working in kitchens previously and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

:

- Preparation of sandwiches, cakes, and scones for Afternoon Teas, including learning how to input stock onto the system and write off wasted stock and printing the labels.

- Ensuring food is presented to a high standard and served on time

- Keeping the kitchen and serving area clean and tidy, following hygiene and safety procedures

- Completing general tasks such as washing up, stocking supplies, and cleaning down at the end of the day

- Providing excellent customer service when delivering to guests, including service of Afternoon Teas

-Knowledge of general running of a kitchen, including relevant paperwork and food safety.

-Preparing and cooking a range of dishes to a high standard

-Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations at all times.

-Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices.

About You



- Friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable with a positive attitude

- Able to work well in a small team or alone, and work well under pressure

- A passion for food presentation and quality.

- Good time management and attention to detail.

- Previous kitchen or catering experience is essential, however full training will be provided.

-Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as required.

Pay: 10.00-13.00 per hour
