We are seeking a reliable and hardworking

Kitchen Assistant

to join our Care Home team. This role is vital in supporting the preparation of meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring residents receive nutritious, well-prepared food in a safe environment. The ideal candidate will have a caring nature, strong attention to hygiene, and the ability to work well within a team while contributing to the overall wellbeing of our residents. The hourly pay rate for this position is

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of meals and beverages under the direction of the Chef/Cook. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, dining areas, and food storage spaces. Wash, peel, and prepare ingredients as needed for meal preparation. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment after use. Assist with serving meals and drinks to residents. Ensure proper storage and rotation of food supplies to meet safety standards. Adhere to food hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times. Report any kitchen maintenance issues or food supply needs to management. Provide respectful and supportive service to residents during mealtimes.

Requirements:

Previous kitchen or catering experience preferred, ideally in a care home, hospital, or hospitality setting. Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Food Hygiene Certificate desirable). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work efficiently as part of a team. Good communication skills for interacting with residents and staff. Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and resident care.
