Support Our Kitchen - Help Make Mealtimes Special
We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Danygraig Care Home. In this role, you'll support our Cook in preparing and serving wholesome meals that bring comfort and enjoyment to residents every day.
About Danygraig
Danygraig Care Home is a 48-bed residential home set in a beautiful Grade II listed building overlooking the Bristol Channel. We provide high-quality care for adults living with dementia and mental health conditions in a homely, supportive environment.
Your Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll ensure the smooth running of our kitchen by:
Helping prepare and serve meals, snacks, and drinks for residents
Assisting with basic food preparation (vegetable prep, sandwiches, light cooking)
Supporting the Cook in catering for dietary needs and preferences
Keeping the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment clean and hygienic
Washing up, loading dishwashers, and managing kitchen laundry
Assisting with stock rotation and safe food storage
Following food hygiene, health & safety, and infection control guidelines
What We're Looking For
? Friendly, helpful, and a great team player
? Willing to learn and follow instructions carefully
? Reliable with good attention to hygiene and cleanliness
? Experience in a kitchen, catering, or care setting (preferred but not essential)
? Food Hygiene Level 2 (desirable, or willingness to complete training)
? Flexible to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota
