MACK operates nationwide, delivering essential accommodation, catering and laundry services.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and service run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to learn more about the culinary arts in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist chefs with basic food preparation (e.g. peeling, chopping, assembling sandwiches, plating desserts) Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, including surfaces, floors, and equipment Operate dishwashers and clean pots, pans, utensils, and crockery as required Set up and clear down food service areas, including trolleys, counters, and dining areas Manage waste disposal and recycling in line with site procedures Follow food hygiene regulations, cleaning schedules, and COSHH procedures Help with receiving and storing deliveries, checking temperature and rotation Report any equipment faults or safety hazards to the supervisor or chef on duty Support compliance by completing cleaning logs and temperature records as directed Assist in preparing for special dietary needs (under supervision), ensuring clear labelling Maintain good personal hygiene and wear appropriate PPE/uniform at all times Carry out any other duties reasonably requested to support the catering operation

Essential:



Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety Good communication and teamwork skills Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and carry out manual tasks Willingness to learn and follow instructions Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to working hours

Desirable:



Experience working in a commercial or institutional kitchen Level 1 or 2 Food Safety Certificate (training can be provided) Knowledge of COSHH and manual handling procedures

Shift Days / Times



3 days over 7, including weekends. Any time between 8am to 7pm but must be flexible to fit within the business requirements
