Job Overview

We are looking for a Kitchen assistant to join our fantastic Kitchen team, at our popular Cafe in Canton. The team consistently puts out some of the best food you can find in Cardiff and we are excited to be looking for someone to join them. The right person will have at least 1 year of professional experience in a fresh food kitchen but most importantly will be a great fit with the team and wants to be part of an exciting, growing and friendly business. The Role

Main duties are preparation, baking and general house-keeping 20- 30 hours per week (we will be flexible for the right person) across 3-4 days including at least one weekends Daytime shifts Reporting to Kitchen Manager Ideal start date - November

About You

You will have an active interest in working as an effective member of a team, have great time management skills, a high standard of cleanliness and an interest in fresh food cooking. This role will suit someone who enjoys working as part of a small team, is hard-working, has excellent attention to detail and brings a positive attitude to work each day.

Essential experience

At least 1 year experience working in a fresh food kitchen At least 1 year experience working in a busy catering environment Up to date knowledge and ability to adhere to current food hygiene standards.
Desirable experience

An interest in working with a team to manage and prepare for busy services Current food hygiene certificate (we can provide training if necessary) Competent in preparing baked goods.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an informal interview with the Kitchen Manager and one other member of the team Following a successful informal interview, shortlisted candidates will be invited to a trial shift at the cafe in Canton, supervised by the Kitchen Manager. All trial shifts are paid and will take place in October
Job Type: Permanent

Pay: 12.60-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
