Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our team- English is necessary and Tamil is preferred - delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of head chefs or kitchen managers Support the catering team in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes for service Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations Help with basic cooking tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients Ensure proper storage of food items and monitor expiry dates to minimise waste Assist with serving meals to customers or guests as required Follow hygiene standards diligently and participate in cleaning schedules Support inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying management of shortages

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling Basic cooking skills including meal preparation and food presentation Experience with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, or portioning ingredients is advantageous Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary A genuine interest in culinary arts and customer service excellence
