Overview

We are looking for a versatile and enthusiastic team member to join our growing coffee shop in Royston (SG8). This role combines food preparation and kitchen assistance with general coffee shop duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic and customer-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have some experience in cooking, a hands-on attitude, and a willingness to contribute across different areas of the business.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and cooking meals, sandwiches, pastries, and other menu items in line with established recipes.

Contribute to inventory checks and stock management as needed.

Support general kitchen duties including cleaning, food preparation, and maintaining hygiene standards. Help with daily coffee shop operations such as serving customers, making drinks, clearing tables, and restocking supplies. Work collaboratively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction. Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in both kitchen and service areas.

Requirements

Previous experience in a cafe, kitchen, or similar hospitality environment. Basic cooking skills and a willingness to learn more in the kitchen. Flexible and proactive approach to varied tasks. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Food hygiene knowledge is a plus; Certification is beneficial but not essential. Flexibility to work weekends and varying shifts based on business needs. Must live within easy commuting distance of Royston (SG8).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.50-13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week
