Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a keen interest in the hospitality industry. This role involves supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring all food is prepared according to recipes and standards. Help supervise kitchen staff and manage team dynamics to maintain an efficient workflow. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes. Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices. Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setting up workstations and cleaning up after service.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is essential, with a focus on culinary roles. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and best practices in a professional kitchen. Experience supervising or managing a team is advantageous, demonstrating leadership capabilities. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly valued. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
