Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to meet established recipes and presentation guidelines
Manage food production schedules to ensure timely service during busy periods
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and ensure consistency in food quality
Collaborate with management on menu development, special event planning, and ingredient sourcing
Monitor stock levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste through efficient inventory management
Ensure the kitchen environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards
Experience
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment
Demonstrable culinary experience across various cuisines and techniques
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments preferred
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Experience serving guests directly or managing service teams is advantageous but not essential
