We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Kitchen Manager to join our team, providing essential support in a nurturing environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing home cooked, nutritious meals and an interest in culinary skills, particularly in food preparation and safety. This role involves assisting with meal preparation and ensuring that all food safety standards are upheld while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the children.
Responsibilities
Assist in the daily care and supervision of children within the nursery setting.
Support meal preparation, ensuring that all food is prepared according to safety guidelines.
Help with serving meals and snacks, promoting healthy eating habits among children.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas.
Collaborate with other staff members to create engaging activities that promote children's development.
Ensure that all dietary requirements are met and communicated effectively.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to childcare and food safety.
Requirements
Previous experience in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred but not essential.
Culinary skills or experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous.
Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
A genuine love for working with children and contributing positively to their development.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain a tidy workspace.
