Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organized, and functional kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and supporting food service activities across various settings, including restaurants, hotels, catering events, and banquet facilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and food service, with a focus on cleanliness and teamwork.

Duties

Wash, scrub, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and basic cooking under supervision Support catering and banquet setups by organizing supplies and assisting with serving arrangements Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, workstations, and storage areas to ensure a safe environment Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed according to safety regulations Assist in inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock needs Support the culinary team with general kitchen duties as required

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, hotel, or catering environments is preferred but not mandatory Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently and thoroughly Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations is advantageous Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards hospitality service Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed Flexibility to work during busy periods including weekends, evenings and holidays Prior experience in banquet or culinary settings is a plus but not essential
