The Kitchen Porter will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining an organised kitchen space. Duties
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and cooks, ensuring ingredients are ready for use.
Help organise and store food supplies and kitchen equipment efficiently.
Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen management.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
A keen interest in food preparation and culinary practices.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
