We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen team.
In this role, you will assist the chef with food preparation and maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Your responsibilities include opening and closing procedures, routine cleaning, and ensuring all kitchen operations adhere to high hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening & Closing Procedures.
Prepare the kitchen for service at opening and secure the premises after closing.
Conduct routine checks on equipment and supplies to ensure readiness for the day.
Assisting the Chef:
Support the chef with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, frying, grating, boiling and organising food supplies while ensuring high standards of food hygiene and safety are maintained.
Help with taking, preparing and packing orders during peak periods.
Kitchen Maintenance:
Ensure proper sanitation of all kitchen areas, equipments and work surfaces, while adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Clean all utensils including bowls, pots, pans and other cooking equipments efficiently and effectively.
Dispose of waste and manage recycling according to company policies.
Inventory & Stock Management:
Monitor and refill/restock kitchen supplies as needed.
Assist with inventory checks to ensure supplies and equipments are available and stored correctly.
Team Support:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow.
Communicate any issues or suggestions to improve kitchen operations.
Requirements:
Three years experience in a busy kitchen environment is required and continuous in-house training will be provided for the right candidates.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
A valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Minimum of Level 2).
