Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients for cooking. Help chefs with basic cooking tasks and ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained. Support the culinary team during service by preparing plates and assisting with serving when necessary. Organise and store food items appropriately, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in maintaining stock levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to management. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation during busy periods.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, though not essential. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills will be advantageous. Experience in restaurants, hotels, or other hospitality settings is highly desirable. A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn from experienced chefs is essential. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are crucial for success in this role.
