Overview

American Pizza Slice is looking for a reliable, hardworking Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen team and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation. This role is essential to keeping our kitchens running smoothly, especially during peak hours. During busy periods, you'll also assist our pizza makers with basic prep and assembling pizzas.

Key ResponsibilitiesKitchen Support & Cleaning

Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised kitchen at all times. Wash, dry, and store all cookware, utensils, and equipment promptly. Follow our

two-stage cleaning process

for all work surfaces. Keep sinks, dishwash areas, and prep stations clean and clutter-free. Empty bins, change liners, and ensure waste areas are hygienic. Sweep and mop floors regularly throughout the shift. Assist with end-of-day deep cleaning tasks as required.

Food Preparation

Assist chefs and pizza makers with basic food prep. Prepare and restock ingredients throughout the day. Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Set up and clean down prep areas before and after use.

Supporting Pizza Production

During busy shifts, help assemble pizzas following our recipes and portion guides. Assist with topping, saucing, finishing pies, and passing pizzas to the oven team. Maintain speed and accuracy during service to help meet customer demand. Communicate with kitchen staff to keep the line running efficiently.

Skills & Attributes

Strong work ethic and ability to stay organised under pressure. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn pizza prep and support the kitchen team. Ability to follow cleanliness, safety, and food-handling procedures. Reliable, punctual, and ready to get stuck in.

Experience

No previous experience required -- full training provided. Experience in a fast-paced kitchen is a bonus.

Hours

Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must be available at peak times, especially between

5pm - 10pm

and busy Saturdays.
