We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a vibrant hospitality environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for the culinary arts and wish to gain valuable experience in a hotel or restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking. Help with the storage of food items and supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation to minimise waste. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Dispose of waste correctly and ensure recycling practices are followed. Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary work is key. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced cooks and chefs. Knowledge of basic food hygiene practices is advantageous but training will be provided.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour
