About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and supporting chefs in their daily tasks. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced culinary environment.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment. Assist with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients for cooking. Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary items are readily available. Help with the storage of food items and ensure proper stock rotation to minimise waste. Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment regularly to adhere to health and safety standards. Assist in receiving deliveries and properly storing supplies. Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive working environment and efficient kitchen operations.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; we welcome candidates eager to learn. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills would be advantageous. Experience in hospitality or hotel environments is a plus, showcasing an understanding of service standards. A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to develop skills within the kitchen team are highly valued.
