Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. You will be entitled to an equal share of the tip pool (typically around 4 extra per hour). As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food and hospitality, and who thrive in a fast-paced setting. Your contributions will ensure that our culinary team can focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables as required Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to meet health and safety standards Support chefs in cooking tasks when necessary, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest quality Help with the organisation of the kitchen by storing ingredients and supplies appropriately Ensure that all waste is disposed of properly and that recycling procedures are followed Assist in the cleaning of dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware promptly after use Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during service periods

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel environment is preferred Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen setting Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service
