DOCS Restaurant Newcastle are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced hospitality environment on a part time basis.

THIS JOB IS NOT SUITABLE FOR STUDENTS AND APPLICANTS MUST HAVE PREVIOUS KP EXPERIENCE

Working approximately 3 shifts on a rota basis which will include evening and weekend work such as Sunday day time no Sunday evening work is required!

The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are reliable, hardworking , and who thrive in a hospitality setting.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and utensils. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Help with food storage and inventory management, ensuring that all items are labelled and stored correctly. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in receiving deliveries and organising stock in the kitchen.

Skills

A basic understanding of culinary practices and food preparation techniques is advantageous. Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. A team player who can work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals. Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately. A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kitchen.

Pay: From 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
