We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by supporting chefs and maintaining cleanliness and organisation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced culinary environment while contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients as required. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring all surfaces and equipment are regularly cleaned. Support chefs during service by providing necessary utensils and ingredients promptly. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently to ensure a steady supply of clean items for use. Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure recycling procedures are followed. Assist in stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste and ensure freshness of ingredients. Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment and support each other during busy periods.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous. Basic food preparation skills, with an understanding of culinary techniques preferred. Familiarity with health and safety regulations within a kitchen setting. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure. A proactive attitude towards learning new skills related to cooking and food service. Excellent teamwork skills, with a friendly disposition towards colleagues and customers alike. Pay: 10.00-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 45 per week
