We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in delivering high-quality service. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn about food preparation and hospitality operations.
Duties
Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure hygiene standards are met
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout the shift
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
Supporting the storage of ingredients and supplies in designated areas
Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Helping with organisation of the kitchen area to promote an efficient workflow
Skills
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques is desirable
Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards maintaining a safe working environment
Flexibility to adapt to busy periods within the kitchen setting
