We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for cleanliness, a positive attitude, and an interest in the hospitality industry. Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
Washing and sanitising dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
Ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas
Supporting the organisation of stock and supplies within the kitchen
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Maintaining a tidy work environment throughout shifts to promote safety and efficiency
Supporting chefs during busy service periods as required
Skills
Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards
Experience in cooking or restaurant settings is desirable but not mandatory
Knowledge of hospitality or hotel environments can be beneficial
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under supervision
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to team efforts
Strong commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the kitchen environment
