Are you passionate about food and eager to develop your skills in a professional kitchen? We're looking for a

Kitchen Porter (Catering Assistant)

to join our friendly and dedicated catering team at

The McIndoe Centre

. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced chefs and support the delivery of high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors.

What you'll do:

Assist chefs and catering staff with food preparation, including sandwiches, salads, and vegetables. Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic kitchen environment, following "clean as you go" practices. Wash and sanitise crockery, cutlery, glassware, and cookware to the highest standards. Support meal service and beverage points, ensuring smooth front and back-of-house operations. Manage stock rotation, put away deliveries, and complete associated records. Ensure waste disposal processes are followed and bins are cleaned daily. Communicate allergen information accurately and complete food safety documentation.

About you:

Passionate about food and committed to learning new skills. Able to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Great communication and teamwork abilities.

Level 2 Food Safety

(training can be provided). Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential. A caring, friendly attitude aligned with our values:

Location:

The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead

Contract Type:

Permanent, 37.50 hours per week

Work Pattern:

Working 5 out of 7 days on Mon - Sun shift times are 7am - 3pm

Salary:

Between 23,965.50 - 24,082.50 per annum
