We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team at Tipo. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary or hospitality industry, particularly those with an interest in cooking and food service.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or cooks, ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained. Help with the storage and inventory of food supplies, ensuring that all items are properly labelled and stored. Support the kitchen team during busy periods by assisting with basic cooking tasks and preparing ingredients. Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the kitchen environment. Assist with waste disposal and recycling efforts to promote sustainability within the kitchen operations.

Skills

Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques are advantageous. Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen setting is preferred but not essential. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. A willingness to learn and develop skills within the culinary field. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
