Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food and hospitality, and who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your contributions will help maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation, supporting the culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This job will be temporary from November 24th til December 31st.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients as directed by the chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and tidy. Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans promptly to support the cooking process. Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper rotation and labelling to maintain freshness. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing additional assistance as needed. Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members. Assist with basic cooking tasks under the supervision of experienced chefs when required.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential. Basic culinary skills with an understanding of food preparation techniques. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. A keen interest in cooking and hospitality, demonstrating a willingness to learn and develop new skills. Ability to work well within a team while also being self-motivated when required. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff and management.
