Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, supporting the smooth operation of food service activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and food service, with experience in cleaning, food handling, and supporting kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Support food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations in compliance with health standards Handle food items safely during preparation and service, adhering to proper food handling procedures Support cooking activities as needed, including basic food prep tasks under supervision Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area throughout shifts to promote a safe and hygienic environment Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling materials according to established protocols

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, catering, or hospitality environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation procedures Experience with cleaning duties within a culinary or hotel setting is advantageous Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards supporting kitchen staff and guests Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or evenings if required Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform manual tasks related to cleaning and food prep
