Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation areas and assisting with basic kitchen duties. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality sector. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients. Support the kitchen team during service periods by ensuring all items are ready for use. Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, and storage spaces. Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed. Restock supplies and organise storage areas to facilitate efficient workflow. Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Skills

Previous experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hotel environment is desirable but not essential. Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and hygiene standards. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and hospitality practices. Strong attention to detail and reliability in completing assigned tasks. Positive attitude with excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer service when interacting with colleagues.
