We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation and service areas, contributing to the overall guest experience. As we are a Catering Company you will be travelling with Chefs or sent to different event spaces.
Responsibilities
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including cleaning vegetables and organising ingredients.
Support chefs with maintaining cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
Wash, dry, and store crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently.
Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed.
Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages to management.
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen environment.
Support with organising storage areas to ensure easy access and safety compliance.
Assist in setting up dining areas or serving stations when required.
Skills
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential.
Experience working in a busy kitchen or hospitality setting will be beneficial.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary. This role provides an excellent foundation for those looking to build a career within the hospitality sector while gaining valuable experience supporting professional culinary teams.
Pay: 15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 - 32 per week
