Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients. Support chefs with cooking-related activities as needed, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained. Clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly to ensure a hygienic workspace. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift. Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed. Restock supplies and organise storage areas to facilitate efficient kitchen operations. Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Support serving staff during busy periods by assisting with basic food service tasks if required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided. Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques is desirable. Familiarity with kitchen safety standards and hygiene practices is beneficial. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. A positive attitude and willingness to learn about culinary operations within a professional setting.
