We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant service. Prior experience in hotel, culinary, or hospitality settings is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support the kitchen team.
Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised according to health and safety standards.
Support with organising storage areas and maintaining stock levels of cleaning supplies and kitchen essentials.
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to uphold hygiene standards.
Support the serving staff during busy periods by providing clean crockery and cutlery as needed.
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist with general cleaning duties across the kitchen and back-of-house areas to ensure a hygienic workspace.
Requirements
Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and health & safety regulations is beneficial.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills are essential qualities for success in this role.
