We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-stocked. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in a restaurant setting, while contributing to food preparation and overall kitchen operations.
Duties
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Wash, dry, and store kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and equipment.
Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks as required.
Ensure that all food storage areas are kept tidy and organised.
Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste.
Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
Support the kitchen team during busy periods by assisting with various tasks as needed.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen management.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or culinary setting is preferred but not essential.
A keen interest in hospitality and a willingness to learn about food preparation techniques.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards helping others.
Good understanding of health and safety regulations within a kitchen environment.
Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends as required.
