Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring that food preparation areas are hygienic and well-stocked, allowing chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for cleanliness, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn about kitchen operations within a hospitality setting.

Duties

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients. Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts. Restock supplies and organise storage areas to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed. Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining areas during service times as needed. Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided. Knowledge of food preparation, cooking processes, or culinary experience is desirable. Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures is beneficial. Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Strong team player with excellent communication skills. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends if required.
