The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen by washing dishes, pots, and utensils promptly. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use. Support chefs during service by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating dishes as required. Help maintain stock levels by receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring that hygiene standards are consistently met. Assist in maintaining a tidy work environment throughout the shift.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is advantageous. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. A keen interest in culinary arts and hospitality is preferred. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. A proactive attitude towards learning new skills within the culinary field.
